Peavey DM 118 - Dark Matter Series Compact 18" 800W Active Powered Subwoofer
The new Dark Matter series from Peavey brings 21st century power to a price that's affordable for the common man. With ample power on tap, and easy-to-use controls for quick and easy setup, the Dark Matter speakers sound great, and they can get LOUD! Of course, you also get all the reliability Peavey is known for.
Ever since they introduced the iconic SP1 in 1975, Peavey has been known for making great "working man's" speakers and gear in general. Now, they're bringing the same philosophy into the new millennium, with the Dark Matter series of powered loudspeakers.
The DM 118 SUB features a 18" heavy duty subwoofer driver with a 3" voice coil for authoritative low end response, and includes an internal adjustable crossover (90 - 180 Hz) with high pass and full range thru connections. With 800 watts of clean Peavey power built in, the DM 118 SUB can achieve high SPL without even breaking a sweat.
The rugged MDF enclosure has a built-in M20 threaded receptacle for pole mounting a full range PA cabinet, and includes a pole. A black powder coated perforated steel grill provides system protection and a professional appearance.
The DM 118 SUB is very easy to use, with one level control, one control for the crossover frequency, and one control for the Kosmos-C bass enhancement processing. A combination XLR/TRS jack is provided for input, and there are two XLR male jacks for high passed thru, as well as one male XLR for full range thru. There is also a ground lift switch, and a polarity switch.
The combination of outstanding performance, supremely user-friendly operation, and contemporary styling at an affordable price make the Peavey DM 118 SUB a great choice for virtually any sound reinforcement application. You'll find the DM Series speakers ideal for bands, DJs, karaoke, bars and night clubs, houses of worship, public address, and more.
